Asynchronous Receiver Initiate MAC Protocol with Stair-like Sleep in WSNs

(in English) We propose the asynchronous receiver initiate MAC protocol with stair-like sleep that each node reduces own sleep time by changing the sleep ratio considering the number of hops from the sink in WSNs. Using stair-like sleep, our protocol achieves high delivery ratio, low packet delay, and high energy efficiency due to the reduction of the idle listening time. Our protocol can formulate the upper bound of the idle listening time because of the feature that sleep time decreases in geometric progression and derive the reduction of the idle listening time by using stair-like sleep. In out proposed scheme, the sink calculates the sleep-change-rate based on the hops from a source to the sink.Therefore, using the control packets which have the role of ACK, our protocol achieve stair-like sleep by no newer control packets.In addition, even in the network condition that multi-targets are detected and hops to the sink are changed frequently, our protocol can change the change-rate adaptively because sink can always obtain the hops from the source to the sink. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol can improve performance in the packet delivery ratio, the packet delay, and the energy efficiency compared to the conventional RI-MAC.
