Photocurrent flows when a laser is locally irradiated a surface of a solar cell. A laser-SQUID microscope detects the magnetic field from the photocurrent by means of a SQUID (Superconducting QUantum Interference Device). A polycrystalline solar cell was evaluated using the laser-SQUID microscope. The laser-SQUID microscope detected some places where the magnetic field was not generated by the laser irradiation. And the photocurrent direction was estimated by changing a position of a needle. The polycrystalline solar cell was also evaluated by an LBIC (Laser Beam Induced Current) method which was widely used for an evaluation of a distribution of conversion efficiency of solar cells. The laser-SQUID microscope image was corresponded to the LBIC image. Therefore, the evaluation of the solar cell using the laser-SQUID microscope was effective. Furthermore, the laser-SQUID microscope was a non-contact method unlike a LBIC method that needs contacts. |
