Effect of Faraday rotation angle compensation on ALSO-PALSAR backscatter response and polarimetric target decomposition results

(in English) Faraday rotation can degrade the significant quality of the received SAR data in L-band. Therefore, an effect of Faraday rotation angle is necessary to point out on PALSAR backscatter response and polarimetric target decompositions results. In this work, Faraday rotation prediction and compensation method is described. A 4x4 coherency matrix based estimated Faraday rotation angle is applied to correct PALSAR data, and its compensation effect is also tested on fully polarimetric PALSAR data based four component scattering decomposition results over various land cover region.
