A Session-based WLAN Association Control considering Traffic Load

(in English) This work discusses a session-based WLAN association control in which a WLAN terminal connects to a WLAN Access Point when a session starts and it disconnects after the session finishes. By implementing this association control mechanism into each WLAN terminal, the whole network utilization efficiency would become better and eventually QoS(Quality of Service) would be improved. In this paper, we will state that the number of packet transmitted from a terminal during an association/disassociation process is much smaller than the number of packet transmitted for session management during a session. Moreover, we will report on the effectiveness of this proposed method by evaluating UDP packet arrival rates of VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) service when each WLAN terminal in which this control mechanism is implemented is executing a session of VoIP/Web Searching/Web Browsing.
