A Study on Complexity Reduction of Iterative Signal Detection for Uplink SC-FDMA MIMO using HARQ

(in English) Frequency-domain transmit filtered single-carrier (SC) transmission has a low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) property and large frequency diversity gain. In our previous work, we proposed a joint iterative minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection and interference cancellation (MMSED-IC) for frequency-domain filtered SC-frequency-division multiple-access (FDMA) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) uplink. However, extremely high computational complexity is required to calculate the optimal MMSE weight. In this paper, we propose a new complexity reduced MMSED-IC by using block diagonal of MIMO channel matrix for frequency-domain filtered SC-FDMA MIMO uplink packet transmission using type I hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ). We evaluate its throughput performance by computer simulation and show that the use of roll-off factor $\alpha$=1 achieves the highest throughput performance.
