A Study on Interference Suppression for Asynchronous AF Cooperative OFDM Systems

(in English) In asynchronous cooperative communication systems with several relay nodes using amplify-and-forward (AF) protocol, OFDM transmission with guard interval (GI) can avoid performance loss due to the time delays from the relay nodes. However, when there are large delays among relay nodes and/or there are delayed waves with unexpectedly large delay, the total timing delay exceeds GI length and thus interference occurs. In this article, we propose a time-domain equalization method to combat the interference. The proposed method suppresses the interference by choosing equalizer parameters from the nullspace of a special correlation matrix of received signals. Simulation results show that the proposed method performs well even if the available number of data is limited under a certain condition.
