We proposes a resource assignment algorithm for inter-cloud computing systems. An inter-cloud computing system is promising as the reliable and economical computing infrastructure . In this system, computing resources for a single customer system are assigned dispersively between distributed cloud computing systems. The duplicated resource assignment between distributed systems is effective to offer reliable services. However, optimally assigned computing resources may not achieve high performance with the total system viewpoint due to the shortage of networking resources. In addition, excessive resource allocation may not meet a cost requirement. In order to solve those problems, the proposed algorithm first calculates several resource assignment patterns that meet diversified customer requirements. Then it selects an optimal pattern so as to maximize the most important benefit such as performance or reliability. According to the simple examination, our algorithm can output the optimal resource assignment pattern for each heterogeneous request such as high-performance requests or low-cost requests. Consequently, our algorithm is attractive as the base technology to assign requested resources distributedly in inter-cloud computing systems. |
