A Theoretical Study on Design of Spatial Fading Emulator Based on Clarke's Model

(in English) In this paper, we describe a design method of a spatial fading emulator based on Clarke's model which is one of the OTA(Over-The-Air) measurement system for creating an adequate propagation environment.OTA measurement systems need to create a propagation environment where spatial correlation and time correlation are correctly realized. Spatial range or time range where these correlations are correctly realized is defined as a quiet zone. By analyzing spatial correlation characteristics and time correlation characteristics, we show that the size of quiet zone is decided by Bessel function of scatterer number order. Furthermore, the effects of scatterers positioning are evaluated through numerical simulations. Finally, we show a structural design method of emulator.
