Adjacent channel interference reduction of OFDMA signals for public broadband mobile communication system

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) As the terrestrial digital TV broadcasting will replace the analogue TV broadcasting, a part of the VHF band, i.e. 170MHz to 202.5MHz is planned to be used for the public broadband mobile communication system for safety and security. As the public broadband mobile communication system will be used under multi-path fading environment, OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Multiple Access) seems promising, however, the adjacent channel interference to the existing narrow band wireless systems needs to be significantly reduced. This report, proposes an adjacent channel interference reduction technique in order to reduce the sidelobe level of the OFDMA signals by using the over-sampling of the digital modulated signals and an IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) digital filter. It also describes the evaluation results of the adjacent channel interference performance and BER performance of the proposed technique.
