A Study on Serial Concatenated Structures Composed of Channel and Product Codes in Multiple Acess Relay Channels

(in English) This paper presents a joint channel-and-product coded system in multiple access relay channels (MARC) for an uplink transmission scenario. Aiming at mitigation of radio resources in the multi-point networks, a compression code concatenated with channel codes plays a key role.
The concatenated coded system relying on an iterative decoding is capable of mitigating not only transmit power but also required number of transmission slots. When link qualities experienced in the first hop in the MARC is evil, physical layer network code without detection at a relay is worth applying as the compression by comparison to network code with detection. This is because network code with detection at a relay severely suffers from error propagation issues caused in the first hop.
A main focus point of this paper is a consideration about an adoption of product code as the compression, which is a sort of physical layer network code. We will demonstrate that the joint channel-and-product coded system is a promising technique to mitigate the required radio resources by computer simulations.
At the same time, EXIT chart analysis will be conducted to verify iterative behaviors.
