This paper presents a novel alternating-phase fed slotted waveguide array with a double-layered feed structure. A tournament-type parallel-fed power divider in the bottom layer and short center-fed radiating waveguides for a series-fed slot array in the top layer are effective to reduce the long line effect. Furthermore, meandering radiating waveguides are introduced for the linearly arranged slot array to suppress grating lobes in E-plane. A prototype array with 28 radiating waveguides by 8 sots is assembled by using only screws in 60 GHz band. Stable performances of over 29 dBi gain and low side lobe radiation patterns are confirmed by measurement in 60 to 61 GHz. |
