Geogarphic Routing with Guaranteed Delivery Using Quasi-Block Node in Wireless Sensor Networks
Kyohei Ikeda, Toyofumi Takenaka (Nihon Univ) NS2010-210
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The greedy routing is a typical geographic routing. However, when it falls into the dead end problem, the greedy routing discards the carried packet. In order to cope with this problem, TPGF that uses the concept of block node is proposed in the reference[2].TPGF continues data packets transition after it falls into the dead end by searching for the route to a sink node using the function of block node. However, TPGF cannot guarantee the data packet transmission to the sink node by the limitation of TPGF capabilities. In addition, since TPGF executes the routing without considering the amount of the residual battery power of nodes, the batteries of nodes in some areas may be exhausted, and the network division may happens. In this paper, we newly introduce the concept of semi-block node in order to guarantee the transmission of data packet. Moreover, we introduce the routing technique with considering the amount of residual battery power of nodes in order to prolong a network lifetime. We evaluate our proposed schemes by simulation experiments and show the effectiveness of our schemes.
