Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, computer networks including the internet are one of the most important infrastructures of society. Therefore network security problems must be taken seriously. To improve knowledge of security, there are various forms of security education. Exercises for network security have an advantage in experiencing attacks. However, there is an ethical problem that students learn not only the method of defense against cracking but also the method of attacking. In this research, to compensate for these problems, we developed an exercising environment for defense against cracking. By building a high-performance machine running a virtual machine network and a remotely accessible environment, we created an environment that learners can exercise for network security easily. We used a support system for network administrator education, Linux Network Simulator (LiNeS), as a basic technology for virtual machine network. In addition, we developed a function for generating automatic cracking. To realize such exercising environment, learners can exercise only for the method of defense against cracking in practice.
