Study on Mobility Management Mobile Relay System

(in English) In 3GPP standardization, relay node is studied as a future technology for the purpose of throughput improvement and service area expansion. To further enhance cellular system, mobile relay is a promising technology as mobile relay is able to move like UE. Since it is assumed that an user manages a mobile relay as a femto eNB, mobile relay has higher security risk than fixed relay node and attacks are concerned especially for MME serving user’s UE. To prevent such attack, MME can limit rate between mobile relay and its donor eNB. However in certain architecture, donar eNB is transparent to MME serving UE so that MME cannot limit the rate which is used by a rogue mobile relay. In this paper, we propose a mobility management for mobile relay system which serving MME role as proxy and manage the link information between UE and its serving MME.
