Apply MC-CDMA System to Mobile WiMAX System

(in English) In WiMAX system, one of the 3.9 generation mobile communications systems, the OFDMA technology, which is known to have high bandwidth efficiency and be robust to multipath propagation, is employed for both uplink and downlink transmission. However, OFDMA suffers severe frequency selectivity in mobile environment.
Source allocation has been proposed to overcome this problem. The ideal source allocation, however, is usually too complex to be practical since it requires the optimal combined adaption of frequency, time, and power. In this paper, we propose
to employ a MC-CDMA scheme to Mobile WiMAX system to suppress the channel frequency diversity.
Simulation results show that our system outperforms OFDMA system under low-load condition but performs worse than OFDMA system when highly-loaded due to multiuser interference.
The performance of the system is supposed to be improved with MUI suppression.
