Virtual Layered Space-Frequency Receivers for Multiuser MIMO-OFDM systems

(in English) In this paper, we propose ordered successive receivers with ``virtual channels'' aiming for multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems under which multiple base stations are cooperating with each other.
The proposed method enables high speed transmission without increasing amount of the feedback of channel state information (CSI). Moreover, with the idea called ``virtual channel'', the receivers can detect signals even if the number of the receiving antennas is less than that of the transmitted streams. We also show that bit error rate (BER) can be reduced by feeding back some elements of signals from Viterbi decoder to virtual channel detector. We evaluate the performance in the MIMO systems
where base stations have four antennas each and two users have two antennas. The receivers can detect twice as many streams with the cost of $3\ {\rm dB}$ in $E_{\rm b}/N_0$ and three times as many streams with the cost of $7\ {\rm dB}$ in $E_{\rm b}/N_0$ as conventional receivers at ${\rm BER}=10^{-4}$.
