Design, Implementation and Evaluation of Course Support System based on Relatedness Needs of Self-Determination Theory

(in English) By appearances of cheap information terminals and the evolution of Web technology, various course support system using Web are proposed.
However, almost all of the maintenance and improvement in a students’ motivation are not targeted for the conventional course support systems.
In this paper, by focusing on the intrinsic motivation of self-determination theory, we propose a new course support system which maintains and raises students’ motivation.
By using the proposed system, the student can watch other students and their remarks easily and the proposed system offers the environment where a student tends to speak by using twitter.
By watching the students who take the course on the same lesson and their remarks, the connectivity between students can be increased and the relatedness can be given.
Moreover, we introduce the proposed system in actual lessons, and evaluate it by analysis of the students’ remarks and questionnaire for students. Consequently, it
turns out that the proposal system supports the relatedness between students and raises students’ motivation.
