Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Animals perform various behavior according to the integration of information from the outside world.
Information from the world is often masked with noise, therefore the brain must process such unreliable information.
The problem of how does the robust processing is carried out in the brain is the fundamental issues for the study of neuroscience.
To approach such problem, we investigated the effects of noise in visual stimulus on motion detection in \textsl{Drosophila melanogaster}.
Recently, we suggested that the feedback to visual system from the central brain exist in \textsl{Drosophila}.
To investigate this hypothesis, we examined optomotor responses to the stimulus with noise in short-term memory mutant($\textsl{rutabaga}$).
We observed that the reduction in the noise robustness were found in short-term memory mutant.
Enhancement of optomotor responses to the stimulus with noise in wilde type were observed, but in not short-term memory mutant.
Taken together, these results strongly support the hypothesis we have proposed.
And we found a stable optomotor response in $\textsl{rutabaga}$.
This should reflect a defective in a mechanism witch designed to transit among competing percepts.
It suggest that the noise robustness is closely related to this mechanism.
