Accurate Frequency Detector using Frequency-Phase transform -- An Algorithm of F0 detection without FFT --
Suminori Nishie, Isao Tokuda (JAIST) NLP2010-170
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper presents an accurate fundamental frequency (F0) detector and about the evaluation of frequency resolution and accuracy. This detector requires less CPU resources using simple digital signal processing. Fundamental frequency detection is an essential technology in Musical Informatics, Speech Processing and in other areas. We have developed an F0 detector prototype without FFT, PARCOR or LPC. Internally, frequency-phase transform, Comb-Filter and some features of Lissajous are introduced. In the examination of commercial power frequency (50/60 Hz) measurement as an application, several decades mHz of the moment was clearly detected. In the examination by live Violin sound, precise vibrato movements were promptly detected.
