Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A bridge between the complex network theory and the nonlinear dynamical system theory has been discussed to establish a novel framework for analyzing real complex phenomena from a different viewpoint.
In this framework, several methods have been proposed to transform nonlinear time series to complex networks.
Then, the nonlinear time series are analyzed by the complex network theory.
As a result, the networks transformed from chaotic time series show interesting features observed in real complex networks, for example, small-world property, fit-get-rich property, and so on.

On the other hand, methods for transforming complex networks to nonlinear time series have been proposed.
Among them, we used the classical multidimensional scaling.
We applied our method to two complex network models, the Watts-Strogatz model and the Newman-Watts model, and analyzed the transformed time series.
As a result, it was numerically shown that periodic time series are obtained from regular networks and that noisy periodic time series are obtained from small-world networks of these models.
In this paper, using the circulant-matrix theory and the perturbation theory of linear operators, we theoretically show why noisy periodic time series are generated from the small-world networks obtained by adding new edges to regular networks.
