A Study of Performance Improvement of Wireless LAN Positioning System Using Bluetooth

(in English) This paper presents a study on performance improvement of Wireless LAN positioning system using Bluetooth. First, we examine the Bluetooth performance for investigating the positioning ability. Next, the advanced Wireless LAN positioning system is proposed. The advanced system carries out the precise positioning procedure after the coarse positioning using Bluetooth. Then we evaluate the performance of the proposed system and the conventional system in a certain indoor environment. As a result, we show the average positioning error of 2.62m of the proposed system and of 7.56m of the conventional system. It shows that the proposed system is better than the conventional system.
