Decoding Method for Voronoi Based Discrete Grain Model Fumiya Haga, Seiichi Mita (TTI) MR2010-59 |

In order to construct an effective R/W signal processing for shingled write recording (SWR), we have checked the performances of the following three decoding methods by simulation; BCJR algorithm (a), a method reducing interference from both side tracks (ITI) (b) and a method reducing interference from ITI and ISI (c). A method (c) needs 32 states trellis structure. Voronoi based discrete grain model with additive white Gaussian noise is used as R/W channel model of the SWR. We also used LDPC code with code rate of 0.95 for checking those performances. Consequently, it has been confirmed that decoding methods of (b) and (c) with the above LDPC code can correct errors coming from Voronoi distribution within standard deviation of less than 15% of track width. |
