| (in English) | A input-output (IO) table is a fundamental tool in macro economics that summarizes the transactions among industrial sections. We apply the information geometry to IO tables for analyzing latent changes in economic structures. A prominent feature of information geometry is that it allows us to decompose a distribution or measure hierarchically into several levels of statistics. Using orthogonal foliation, an IO table is decomposed into a vector of marginal sums and an interaction matrix. In experiments with 1970-2006 IO tables of Japanese economy, it is shown that structural changes are better observable in the interaction matrices than the original IO tables. In addition, we derive a new interpolation method of IO tables, which is considered as more appropriate than RAS in that it can take into account structural changes. | |
