Asymptotic Analysis of the Estimators in Regression Analysis and the Application to Machine Learning

(in English) In machine learning, the method of regression analysis is very important. In this presentation, we will state the rate of convergence for nearest neighbor estimators in case that the regression function is $(p,C)$-smooth. It is known that the optimal rate is achievable in case of $0<p\le1$ and not achievable in case of $p>1.5$. But it is an open problem whether the optimal rate can be achieved in case of $1<p\le1.5$. We solve the problem affirmatively and will state the result in the presentation. Recently, in pattern recognition, it is shown that the method using regression analysis has a better performance, and also we will state it.
