Proposal and evaluation of time slot assignment algorithms considering adaptive modulation and coding in IEEE 802.16j relay networks

(in English) The adaptive modulation and coding in wireless networks increases the amount of the data transmitted by a wireless link while maintaining the transmission quality. However, in IEEE 802.16j wireless multi-hop relay networks, there is no research on the performance evaluation and improvement of a time slot assignment algorithm considering the adaptive modulation and coding. In this report, we propose a time slot assignment
method for the IEEE~802.16j multi-hop relay networks in consideration of the signal to noise ratio in the data transmission between relay nodes.
The proposed method improves the network performance by adjusting the number of time slots assigned to links according to transmission quality.
Through performance evaluations, we confirm that the data transfer throughput is increased by up to 50$\%$ by using our method.
