Communication Support Interface Based on Contribution Awareness in Collaborative Learning

(in English) In the collaborative learning, participants progress the discussion by recognizing their effects on other participants. Such contribution makes participants promote more active discussion. However, in the collaborative learning through networks, participants cannot be aware of their contribution because of the lack of awareness information. In this research, we propose a visualization method of contribution in our round-table interface. In order to attain the fruitful discussion, it is required that each participant actively makes utterances for the current topic. In addition, they have to consider which utterances are useful for the whole discussion. In our interface, the reference actions to the useful utterances are represented by moving lighting balls from the utterer locations to the referrers. Moreover, referred utterances are appeared in the visualization window so as to represent their contribution to discussed topics.
