| 抄録 | （和） | 半側空間無視患者の無視空間への視覚刺激の提示や,視覚マスキング等によるサブリミナル刺激を用 いた先行研究により,知覚されない情動的な視覚刺激(恐怖顔やクモなど)が主観的な「見え」を伴わなくとも, 人の行動や思考へ影響を及ぼすことが知られている.本研究では,脳への情報入力としては知覚されるに十分な刺 激の強さと提示時間を持っている閾上刺激入力の有無と,その入力に対する意識的な知覚の有無を独立に操作でき る両眼視野闘争を用いて,抑制眼側に提示された意識的に知覚されない顔刺激の表情が,優位眼側での意識に上る 顔刺激の表情の認識に与える影響を調べた.被験者は,指定された表情(笑いもしくは怒り)を優位眼側で検出し た際に出来るだけ素早くボタンを押すという go/no-go 課題を,抑制眼側に優位眼側と一致する表情の顔刺激が提示 される一致条件,一致しない表情の顔刺激が呈示される不一致条件,抑制眼側には顔刺激が提示されない単独条件 の三つの条件下で行った.その結果,抑制眼側に提示された表情は,意識的には知覚されないにも関わらず,優位 眼側での表情検出における反応時間に対して影響を与え,不一致条件では一致条件,単独条件と比べて反応時間が 遅くなることが示された.また抑制眼側の表情による潜在的プライミングの影響が,表情選択的に起こっているこ とも示された.これらの結果は,表情認識の際の情動処理が無意識下で行われている可能性を示唆するものである. |
| （英） | Emotional visual images, such as those of facial expressions and evolutionally determined threats (e.g., spiders and snakes), have been known to cause behavioral, psychophysical and neurophysiological responses without subjective experience. In this experiment, we examined whether the previously reported influence of the non-consciously perceived emotional visual images, which were produce by either presenting the visual stimuli in the blind field of a blindsight patient or using visual masking techniques, would also occur in normal subject. To this end, we created non-conscious perceptual state using binocular rivalry and see if the emotional visual images that were suppressed in binocular rivalry could influence the visual detection of facial expressions. Observers were asked to press a button as fast as possible after detecting the face that expressed the target emotion (happy or anger). We presented a task-irrelevant prime face (happy, anger, or absent) shortly before and in the opposite visual hemi-field of the target face. The priming face was suppressed using the continuous flash suppression technique. The results showed that even when the observers barely noticed the facial expression of the suppressed prime face, the reaction time was significantly slower when the facial expressions of the suppressed prime and dominant target were incongruent and when the suppressed priming face expressed anger. These results indicate that facial expressions are processed in the absence of the perceptual experience even in normal subjects. | |
