Study of Antenna efficiency calculation method in FDTD method

(in English) Small terminals for mobile communications such as smart phones, mobile phones are widely increased. The power saving is needed due to the restriction of the battery. Therefore high radiation efficiency is required to keep battery life. It is effective to use the numerical simulation to develop the antenna with high radiation efficiency. Some problems have been reported in the calculation of the radiation efficiency of the antenna in the FDTD method. The radiant efficiency is calculated in the ratio of the input electric power and the radiated power or the loss power. In this paper, new calculation techniques are proposed for radiation efficiency in the FDTD method. Therefore uses the far field to obtain the radiated power in the FDTD method, and we will show the an advantage of our proposed method by comparing with the conventional technique in which using the near field.
