Numerical Calculation of Internal Electric Fields in Human Models by LF Contact Currents
Yosuke Nakayama, Hiroo Tarao (Kagawa NCT), Noriyuki Hayashi (Univ of Miyazaki) EMCJ2011-74
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The ICNIRP guidelines were revised in 2010. The basic restrictions were changed to electric fields from current densities. In this study, electric fields in human models by two contact current paths were calculated using five realistic human models. Electric fields in the extremities contacting with electrodes were the same levels for given models regardless of current paths. As a result of comparison with the basic restrictions, 99th percentile electric fields in the nervous system tissues did not exceed. However, electric fields in the articulation of the extremities exceeded up to about ten times under a certain condition.
