Phase Response Properties of Piecewise Linear Oscillator and Functional Roles of Phase Resetting on Rhythmic Motion Control

(in English) In this work, we study on a piecewise linear oscillator known as the Matsuoka oscillator in view of its time scale parameter with considering as a fast-slow system by the singular perturbation and phase reduction methods.
Based on the results, we show the effects of inputs to the fast and slow dynamics of the oscillator and the plausibility of interactions through both the dynamics in coupled systems.
Furthermore, we show the dependence of the effects of the inputs and interactions on each dynamics on the time scale parameter. From the theoretical perspectives, we consider a possible approach based on phase resetting to controlling rhythmic motion including locomotion and a design principle for a feedback system including the oscillators.
