Development of indoor optical cable using single-mode hole-assisted fiber in central office

(in English) We have realized a new optical cord with single-mode hole-assisted fiber (HAF) which has a superior bending loss that complies with ITU-T Recommendation G. 657 A2 & B3 for providing highly reliable optical fiber distribution facilities in central offices. The diameter of the new optical cord is 1.7 mm, and it can be detected with a conventional optical cord identifier despite its low bending loss. We have also developed new indoor optical cables employing new optical cords that achieve almost the same characteristics as conventional optical cable.
