We have designed Heterogeneity Inclusion and Mobility Adaptation through Locator ID Separation (HIMALIS) architecture for New Generation Network (NWGN). However, HIMALIS still lacks security functions to protect itself from intrinsic security problems, such as impersonation attack. The existing security mechanisms have their own limitations especially on scalability and may not be suitable for this architecture. To relieve these limitations, we intend to embed built-in security features in the architecture to enable the procedures in HIMALIS to be proactively protected without involving trust third parties (TTPs). For this purpose, we propose a proactive trustworthy ID/Locator Separation Framework (PTISF), which is mainly composed of trustworthy registration, trustworthy resolution, mutual authentication, and trustworthy mapping update. By the PTISF, hosts can register their information to the network securely, and then they can obtain trustworthy information of destination hosts, authenticate identities each other, and securely update their locators without relying on TTP. |
