Improvement of Accuracy and Time Consuming for Sensory Fatigue Test

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Fatigue in general is a very complex phenomenon. Chronic noise exposure increases fatigue symptoms and post work irritability. For instance, sensory thresholds in two-point discrimination tests vary with practice, fatigue, and stress. The most important parameters in our perception of single echo are delay (50ms) and amplitude (from 0dB to -40dB) relative to one another. The question, whether there is a relationship between our fatigue and each detection threshold of single echo (duration; 10ms) for audible sound (2kHz), bone-conducted ultrasound (40kHz) and vibration (200Hz). This paper presents a combination prediction model of the logistic function and the method of successive categories (5 scale steps) for the detection threshold of single echo. A psychometric logistic model is hypothesized the relationship between the detection threshold sensitivity which set equal from 0 to 100 and the probability p% of a logistic function is fitted to the data of the experiment (10 subjects). The results suggest that the three logistic prediction models obtained are more effective to predict the each detection threshold than the method of adjustment.
