Performance Evaluation of TCP and UDP during LTE Handover

(in English) LTE (Long Term Evolution) is expected as a next generation mobile system which can provide better communication quality (higher transmission throughput and lower delay) than the current mobile system, e.g. HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access). In our previous work, we evaluated TCP throughput and UDP transmission delay by using indoor and outdoor LTE testbeds. However, the performance of TCP and UDP during handover was not evaluated. Therefore, we conducted fundamental experiments to evaluate the performance of TCP and UDP during the handover in LTE. The measurement results of TCP throughput and UDP transmission delay during the handover are reported in this paper.
