Carbon Nanotube(CNT) is an attractive optical functional material for photonic devices such as passive mode-lock laser or all-optical switching due to their one-dimensional structure and ultrafast responsibility. In this report, we demonstrate a nonlinear optical device based on a single-mode silica fiber taper coated with a CNTs-PTFEMA (poly 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate) composite. Four wave mixing-based wavelength conversion of 10 Gb/s Non-return-to-zero signal with the CNT-polymer-coated fiber taper nonlinear device is achieved. Hence, it leads to the suggestion that we can evaluate the effect on optical characteristics of CNT-polymer composite itself. |
