Performance Evaluation of Distributed Video Coding with No Feedback Channel in Video Capsule Endoscopy

(in English) Recently, the new medical devices such as the capsule endoscope have been developed.
Since the capsule endoscope has features of stand-alone, battery-operated, small size and so on, it is essential to minimize amount of processing.
Distributed video coding(DVC) is one of candidates because of its low encoding complexity.
In the previous papers, we have proposed the DVC scheme without feedback channel but with adaptive rate selection based on motion compensated prediction error at the transmitter, and have obtained with good performance compared to non-adaptive schemes.
In this paper, we evaluate its performance when input source is capsule endoscope video.
It is shown that the proposed scheme has effective performance of
the average PSNR, and reduce total coded bits in noisy channel conditions.
