A method for reducing the numbers of sampling points to obtain the 3-D discrete Fourier transform (DFT) used in the harmonic balance method is proposed. A 3-D DFT for the harmonic balance method can be embedded into a 1-D one with fewer sampling points by combining two basic principles,
embedding a 3-D DFT into a 1-D one and reducing the numbers of sampling points in a 1-D DFT with bandpass sampling.
Reduction in redundancy ratio, that is, the ratio of the sampling-point numbers to those of necessary frequency components, can be reduced to less than 1.5. |
