Akira Sato, Toshinobu Harada (Wakayama Univ.) MI2011-76
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Our study aimed to analyze Japanese external nasalis muscles’ curves and to classify the curves by those radii of curvature for making some guidelines of the curves reconstructed by plastic surgery operations. Concretely, we photographed the external nasalis muscles of 84 men and women, clipped out only the external nasalis muscle of picture by using photo retouch software, and put the pictures into a database. Next, all pictures of subjects' external nasalis muscles’ curves were analyzed using the positions of inflection points and the directions in which radii of curvature in a curvature profile. As a result, the 84 subjects' external nasalis muscles’curves were roughly classified into the 5 types (A-E type).
