Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Since a lot of sounds exist in the environment that we live, in order to get necessary information on a certain sound, it is important for us to select a target sound and to obtain information on it. A hearing mechanism being able to listen to a target sound selectively according to two or more sounds is called cocktail party effect. Auditory Scene Analysis (ASA) is the main factor for the cocktail party effect that works effectively. When the ASA works well, we can turn to the attention even in a whisper voice of several meters ahead and can get information on the conversation. At the same time, however, the possibility comes out that our conversations we do not want to be heard by another person, e.g., the conversations at a bank store, hospital outpatient department, and drugstore, slip out. This paper introduces a speech privacy protection method that uses knowledge of ASA oppositely. This method enables the content of the utterance indistinct by generating an acoustical environment that ASA does not work as effectively as possible, by reproducing a sound that obscures the phonemes that bears the language semantic information of speech.
