Many useful image features including SIFT have been developed for image registrations. However, they are designed for general purpose and may not be optimal for a specific purpose. This report describes a learning based construction of image features for robot navigation purpose. It uses images taken from fixed locations for a long period and the goodness of features is evaluated on these images. The image features are constructed by maximizing the goodness defined on the images. |
