High quality and reliability is desired in digital terrestrial broadcasting IP retransmission service. Also, it is important to improve the efficient delivery of server and network. In this point of view, IP multicast technique is typically applied, PIM routing protocol is used in the core network and IGMP/MLD protocol is used in the access network. To improve reliability and efficiency of IP multicast delivery system, redundancy and load balancing techniques of server farm are effective, and redundancy and duplicate delivery techniques in the core network are effective. In the access network, by providing the multiple delivery paths from the IGMP/MLD routers, capacity efficiency and distribution of risk are achieved. But, IGMP/MLD protocol can't load balance among the multiple router interfaces because of querier selection mechanism. Previously, we proposed a method to distribute IP multicast traffic per flow basis across multiple edge in the access network. However, if the number of router interface changes, there is a problem that flow allocation for router interface changes significantly and distribution loss or duplicate delivery for many delivering flows occurs. In this paper, we show a IP multicast load balancing technique in the access network using a consistent hash method to minimize distribution loss or duplicate delivery when facility expansion or reduction occurs. |
