Duplicate Address Detection Method for MANET Using Hierarchical Network Infra-Structure

(in English) The authors have proposed a method to construct network infrastructure connecting ARs (Access Routers) and their uplink networks for MANET (Mobile Ad Hoc Network) as hierarchical structure such as HMIP (Hierarchical Mobile IP), and showed that MNs (Mobile Nodes) could be suppressed from frequently changing their address when they moved in MANET. However, since the stateless address autoconfiguration mechanism in MANET requires DAD (Duplicate Address Detection), there is a problem that multicast occurs in MANET for the detection. This paper proposes a method where the gateway of the hierarchical network infra-structure aggregates DAD to reduce the multicast overhead. The network simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
