Spatial and Temporal Image Processing of Bioluminescence Pattern from Bacterial Colony under the Stimulus of Oxygen

(in English) Bioluminescence patterns,emerging on the luminous colony in response to the oxygen stimulate, have been analyzed by a series of image processing focusing on the frequency components being contained in the pattern. The image processing, employed in this study, consists of mainly two sections. One is a principal component analysis (PCA) in combination with an independent component analysis (ICA). The other is a frequency analysis using the discrete Fourier transform. From a series of analyses, some useful spatial-temporal information about the luminous patterns have been successfully extracted and analyzed.
