The vascular endothelial cell reactivity provides important diagnostic and prognostic information in patients with (or at risk for) cardiovascular disease. Flow mediated dilation(FMD) is widely used to examine artery endothelial function. However, there are some problems in this diagnostic method, such as the reproducibility of diagnostic results and the long ischemia time required for examination. To solve these problems, we need to
analyze more detailed mechanisms of endothelial function. In this study, we developed a mathematical model of vasodilation with the intra-- and inter--cellular pathway to estimate endothelial function. To test a validity of the proposed model, we compared the simulation results with the experimental data. |
