Tube Bending Technique with Assistance of Ultrasonic Vibration

(in English) Presently, higher accuracy is required to several automotive parts, such as engine parts, manufactured by ubebendingprocesses. In an effort to achieve the requirement, we investigated a new tube-drawbending method with an ultrasonic-vibration plug. In this study, firstly, we developed the new bending machine with the axial-ultrasonic-vibration plug with a frequency of 20kHz and an maximum amplitude of 8μm (0-p). Secondly, we experimentedon the tube-draw bending of carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium tubes. As a result of this study, we clarifiedthat several advantages are obtained by the proposed ultrasonic-vibration tube-drawbending method, such as reduction of bending force and improvement of accuracy of bending dimensions.
