The objective of this study is an automatic segmentation of individual muscles and muscle groups of hip from 3D CT images. In this study, we expand the conventional hybrid method and suggest method for segmentation of individual muscles and muscle groups of hip from 3D CT images. We applied the proposed method to 19 cases, and evaluated the estimation performance by comparing with nonrigid registration method proposed by Rueckert et al and hybrid method. As a result, the average distance error of the proposed method was 3.26 mm while the average distance error of the nonrigid registration method was 4.06 mm.From these results, the proposed method would be useful. |
