This paper proposes the real-world development studio, which supports development teams separately developing a certain service on a sensor network. A CO2 visualization service for reducing CO2 exhaust is a typical example of advanced services on a sensor network. This service multiply uses stored data obtained from sensor terminals such as smartmeters settled on houses and visualize the data for themselves and a local government. For realizing such services, sensor terminals and visualizing applications are usually developed in cooperation by separated development teams. The distinguishing point of the proposed method is that a coordinator firstly develops a pseudo environment that implements genuine communication protocols used by actual terminals and applications, and provides the environment to each development team. This method enables early detection of errors, for example, caused by misunderstanding of specifications and development responsibility for each team. It contributes to make it easy to develop services using sensor data multiply. For evaluating the proposed method, we operated a field trial of the CO2 visualization service in Tokyo. We applied our method to the development of sensor terminals and an application program used in the trial, and we found that our method can effectively support the development. |
