Estimation of Center Line and Diameter of Blood Vessel by Vessel Tracing with Simple Binarized Head CTA Image

(in English) To support the diagnosis of the brain blood vessel disease, a novel method to obtain the center line and the diameter of a blood vessel is proposed with a three-dimensional head computed tomographic angiography
(CTA) image. In this study, the center line of the blood vessel is obtained by tracing the vessel. The blood vessel is traced by sequentially estimating the center point and direction of the blood vessel. The center point, direction and diameter of the blood vessel in a calculation region are estimated by taking the correlation between the blood vessel and a solid model of the blood vessel that is designed by considering noise influence. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by experimentally appling the proposed method to a simply binarized three-dimensional head CTA image.
