fMRI/DTI Data Based Complex Network Analysis for Understanding Human Problem-solving Processes
Sho Oyanagi, Ning Zhong (Maebashi Institute of Tech.) KBSE2011-65
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study investigates how the human brain works on mental calculation (e.g. a two digits addition problem) by fMRI/DTI data based complex network analyses. On one hand, the result of the functional analysis in
fMRI data shows the strength of functional connectivity between ROIs (Region of Interest) activated in the different stages of solving a two digits addition problem. On the other hand, when combining the result of the functional analysis in fMRI data with the structural analysis in DTI data, it can be found that the corpus callosum is the bridge between functional and structural networks.
