Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) For a practical use of thermoacoustic cooling systems, it is important to improve the energy conversion efficiency. The Phase Adjuster, which is a device of changing the inner diameter of system locally, improves the efficiency largely. However, it is necessary to understand the efficiency improvement factors because those are not fully explained. The acoustic field and the efficiency of thermoacoustic cooling systems are decided from some parameters: a frequency and a temperature ratio of both stack ends, and so on. In this paper, we investigated the efficiency determinant by dividing the system into two parts and measuring the complex acoustic impedance at the divided point of each partial part with changing such parameters. Consequently, the values of the complex acoustic impedance measured in each part were crossed on the complex plane. The cross-point represented the spontaneous oscillation condition of the system. Therefore, it is expected that the complex acoustic impedance measurement in the system divided into two parts is available as one of ways to understand the efficiency determinant of thermoacoustic cooling systems.
